Greetings from the lands of Morayne. Our land, diverse, beautiful and mysterious, is home to two dominate kingdoms. The herds of equines rule the plains and meadows while packs of wolves reside over the forests and mountains. Our secrets are hidden in the unusual corners of the world from the reflective Keeper's Cave to the ghostly Stone Field. Run through the Forest of Ruins and find awe in the breathtaking plains of the south. Roam our lands freely but do remember, our secrets are well hidden, found by happenstance. Beware what you may find, not all of our secrets are kind.

02.02.2011 Welcome to Relics of Morayne! The site is now open. If you have any questions, post in the guest board or c-box.

Spring has come and gone in the lands of Morayne which means summer is here! Prey is fat and plentiful through all territories while plants are growing in force. Occasional thunderstorms shake the plains and coasts but overall, weather is fair if hot. Temperatures range from 80 to 105 degrees in the commonlands and linger in 45 to 50 in the tundra.

[ ]Mount Skyrin
--A solitary low-lying mountain, Mount Skyrin is heavily forested and strewn with massive boulders. Eagles, falcons and hawks make their homes here most commonly but hunting for larger beasts like deer, mountain sheep and mountain goats is good. Strewn throughout the forest are fragments of stone pillars, the remains of temple floors and other unusual ruins.

Wolves only
00
[ ]Cedar Ridge
--Set on the borderline of the Highwind Mountain territory is a small dense forest of sharp-scented pine, cedar and cypress trees. The forest is set on a massive hill meaning that the land is always inclining or steeply declining. Hunting is good here but the terrain is a bit difficult.

Wolves only

[ ]Keeper's Cave
--Hidden in the foothills of the Highwind Mountains, the Keeper's cave is a mysterious cavern completely coated on the inside with an unusual black stone that is polished so finely it reflects anyone that stands on it with prefect clarity. No one knows how far the cave goes, if it branches off or what the stone is. It is, however, easy to get confused.

[ ]Stones Field
--Opening up just south of Sparrow Lake is a flat praire known as Stones Field. The name comes from unusual massive boulders of various shapes and sizes that are strewn around the field as though a giant had thrown them there from the mountains. Young equines are often amazed by them and older equines find peaceful respite here where grazing is good.

Equines only

[ ]Rancor Jungle
--Dense, steamy and full of unusual birds and mammals, the Rancor Jungle is somewhere between an actual jungle and a swamp. The ground is always oft under foot and quicksand pits lay in wait for unsuspecting travelers. Prey, normally quite active, is unusual and quick making hunting difficult in such close quarters with the trees on uneven ground.

Wolves only

[ ]Sunstone Canyon
--Far to the south, Sunstone Canyon is a large crack in the earth that branches off into a vast network of smaller canyons. The land around it is baked by an intense sun and seems inhospitable. Follow a path down into the canyon however and you'll find the southernmost flow of the Tarr River, bringing life to the canyon bottom.

Equines only

[ ]White Wood
--Considered small by most standards, the White Wood is nonetheless a beautiful place. Consisting mainly of an unknown breed of tree, the White Wood really is white. The trees have white bark and their leaves remain a soft yellow-green all year even when the snows are deep. Overall it is a peaceful, beautiful place.

Equines only

[ ]Luma Pass
--Threading its way along the crest of a high hill, the Luma Pass is a path that follows a hill which divides the White Wood and the Illusionist Forest. What makes this path special is that at night, it lights up. Why? Massive mushroom-like fungi grow along the path, taller than a horse 17 hands high. They glow variations of soft blues and greens and can be seen for miles.

[ ]Serenity Glades
--Deep in a peaceful forest, the Serenity Glades provide birthing places for hunters and grazers alike. Screens of foliage, sturdy old trees and temprate weather provides a safe environment for birthing and raising young ones.

[ ]Deadfall Cliff
--Sitting high above the stormy Seltic Sea, Deadfall Cliff is a dangerous, barren place. Stallions and male wolves come here to settle fights over anything from mates and land to family disputes and simple dislike of each other.

[ ]Trinity Falls
--A trio of cascading waterfalls, the Trinity Falls interrupt the flow of the Roma River and guide it southward. All around the falls, the forest is lush and full of life. Prey and plant life alike are plentiful here. With the soothing sound of the falls, creatures meet here in peace.

Moderator: Zenya
00
[ ]Heron Lake
--Much bigger than the Sparrow Lake, Heron Lake is in the heart of Morayne between all of the territories. On its banks, by ancient laws, wolves are forbidden to hunt. Creatures that meet here meet in peace, though this peace is often tentitive. Fights and deaths here are known to cause all out wars or deep running feuds between herds or packs.

[ ]Requiem Island
--Reached only by a mysterious stone bridge, Requiem Island is a strange jungle-like island strewn with ruins and half-crumbled temples. All around the perimeter of this oddly tropical isle, massive stone pillars stand guard. There are twelve total, carved intricately and nearly completely covered with vines. All around the island one can find brightly colored birds, odd lizards and other unusual creatures.

[ ]Illusionist Forest
--A forest so deep and dark even wolves have trouble seeing in, the Illusionist Forest is renowned for its twisting narrow trails, steep hills, deep undergrowth and being almost completely sunless. The trees, mammoth in size, block out almost all of the sunlight. Becoming lost here can be dangerous, even deadly, for anyone. Horses often suffer falls and die without help while wolves starve, lost and without prey.

{{Joining
[ ]Grasstooth Meadow
--Resting at the base of Mount Skyrin, the Grasstooth Meadow is a rolling expanse of wire-grass fringed by pine and cedar trees all around. Eagle cries are a common sound here as well as lone wolves howling, seeking out a pack to join.

[ ]Sparrow Lake
--A tiny lake situated in the middle of a forest dominated by a mixture of trees, Sparrow Lake is a peaceful place where lone equines come to seek out a home. Finding a young horse here is quite easy, and herd leaders frequent this area.

[ ]Bristlethorn Hollow
--Bristlethorn Hollow, a dark patch of woodland, is full of gnarled twisted trees. Young equines and wolves often get tangled in the thick undergrowth, twisted vines and blackened plants. Their entrapment often draws the gaze of rather unsavory sorts.

[ ]Highwind Mountains
--A harsh upland territory, the Highwind Mountains boast thick forest, deep ravines and steep slopes. The weather here is intense but seldom pleasant and the equines that live here must be as tough as the plants that grow in the stony soil. Divided from the Lower Valley by the Roma River, this is a large but harsh land to control.

[ ]Roma River Valley
--Deep green moorland rolls out to the east for several miles along the Roma River. The massive river divides this territory from the Upper Valley but provides lush grazing land along the riverbanks. This is a small modest land but more than capable of sustaining a herd.

[ ]Windwalker Plains
--Dominating most of the southern quarter of Morayne, the Windwalker Plain is a vast expanse of beautiful plain. The sky and earth seem to go on forever but, a territory this beautiful requires a strong leader and large herd to keep it secure.

[ ]Aurora Tundra
--Something like a frozen desert, the Aurora Tundra is a flat expanse of tough plants that is more often than not at least thinly blanketed in snow. With the Highwind Mountains to the south and the top of the world to the north, this is a harsh but not unbearable homeland. Caribou, arcitc hare and other small mammals feed the pack that lives here. Since this is a rather undesired land, despite it's size it is easily controlled.

[ ]Ruin Forest
--A lush eastern forest, the Ruin Forest seems like it should be desolite but is actually quite lively. The name comes from the ancient and unusual stone ruins found scattered through the trees. The pack here, agile and quick, hunt deer, rabbits, squirrels and other fleet-footed game.
